Product · Where it works
Where Fieldhand works, and how well.
Fieldhand AI is built for growers anywhere, and its depth varies by place. This page says where each part is strongest today and what it does where data is thin.
| What | Coverage today | Strongest in |
|---|---|---|
| Units and currency | US units and US dollars in the United States. Metric units and your own currency elsewhere: prescriptions show kg/ha and seeds/ha outside the US. | Everywhere |
| Soil-test ratings | Regional guidelines are built in for Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Washington and Wisconsin, the Tri-State region and the US North Central and Southeast; and the UK (AHDB RB209), Ireland (Teagasc), Australia (BFDC), New Zealand and South Africa (FERTASA). Each answer names the guideline it used. | US, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa |
| Corn nitrogen economics | Published response curves from the regional Corn Nitrogen Rate Calculator for Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. Elsewhere, Fieldhand gives cost and break-even without inventing a response. | Six US states |
| Market prices | Current USDA cash grain bids for Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska and Tennessee, and hay for Iowa, Montana, Nebraska and South Dakota. Fertilizer prices from USDA’s Iowa report. Each price names its report and date; elsewhere Fieldhand asks for yours. | Selected US states |
| Soil estimates between samples | The soil model was built from lab data in three US regions. Outside them, Fieldhand works from your own soil tests and labels anything estimated. | Three US regions |
| Regional growing zones | Growing zones are described across the Americas. Outside the Americas they are still placeholders, so Fieldhand relies on your soil tests and location. | The Americas |
| Language | The app and its answers are in English today. | English |
Coverage as of October 2026. It grows as guidelines, price reports and soil data are added.
Where data is thin
It says so, and asks.
Outside its strongest coverage, Fieldhand does not borrow another region’s numbers.
- It names the guideline behind every rating, so you can check it fits your field.
- Without a local price report, it asks for your prices, in your currency.
- Without a published response model, it gives cost and break-even and says no model applies.
- It labels every value as measured or estimated.
Farming outside these areas?
Your soil tests still work everywhere. Tell us where you farm, and we’ll tell you what to expect.
